Sarah Liu
Program Director
Sarah runs the StartUP! Competition Program, a corporate-sponsored program for pre-seed startups in tech, food, community, and sustainability. She has revamped the program since 2017 and is striving to build out high-quality resources that help local founders launch and grow their businesses. Previously she worked in marketing and program development at a local startup accelerator in Pittsburgh. Sarah obtained her Master’s Degree in public administration from the University of Pittsburgh. She studied in both China and France during her undergrad.
Michael Gillen
Technology Director
When it comes to technology, Michael Gillen is our man. He comes to the StartUP! with years of marketing, website development, and social media experience. He is responsible for website design and logistics. Having worked as an editor, social media consultant, and website designer, Michael now uses skills from each of those positions in his work with us. He is a graduate of Vassar College with a BA in English with a minor in Japanese and a graduate of Baruch College with an MA in Corporate Communications.
